Does your car insurance cover your pet?

Just a short note...

I recently changed car insurance companies. To my surprise, my new car insurance company includes coverage for my pets if they're in the car at the time of an accident. This coverage is included for FREE because I have collision coverage on my vehicle.

I'm delighted that the insurance company cares about my pets! I would encourage everyone to review their car insurance and see if your pet(s) is covered.

Caesar's Brithday!

Yesterday was our oldest dog, Caesar's birthday. He is now five years old. We are very blessed to have Caesar in our lives. He is a truly unique dog.

For those of you who don't know how we came to adopt Caesar, I will share the story...

I was working for an insurance company in 2008 and one day at lunch a co-worker mentioned that her friend had passed away and that she didn't know what they were going to do with the lady's dog. I immediately inquired about the dog... Magellan was his name at the time... and told her to bring the dog to work with her so I could meet him.

I was immediately attached when she brought him in. As you can imagine, Caesar was quite intimidated by the series of events that were unfolding. He has a very timid nature and was very unsure of me at first.

Caesar mourned for about two weeks. Luckily he came with everything... including two large garbage bags of toys! The toys and all of his bedding carried her scent so I think that helped comfort him somewhat and before long he warmed up and began to play around with us.

We truly are blessed to have Caesar and I hope that we are lucky enough to have 5 more years and more with him.

The Scivicque's New Puppy, Gumbo

Meet Gumbo! He is a Bichon Frise/Shi Tzu mix from Westmoreland, TN. Gumbo is the newest addition to the Scivicque family (Ronnie, Jackie, Faith & Grace).

The Scivicque's are from Louisiana... hence the name Gumbo. :)

I met Gumbo yesterday... he is a mellow fellow and oh so adorable. I gave them a playpen we used to help keep Sophie from having accidents on the carpet when we brought her home. I hope the playpen works out for them. I also dropped off a bag of Loyal Friends' treats from Petco. I'm sure Gumbo will enjoy those.
